Finland in spring
26 April 2027
Bio Rex, Helsinki, Finland
Democracy cannot be outsourced. A sense of community does not emerge on its own. If the Nordic region is to serve as a democratic counterweight in a world marked by division, algorithms and narrow national perspectives, we must build that community together.
On 26 April 2027, NORD55° LIVE, in collaboration with the Amos Rex Foundation, will bring together researchers, artists, journalists, politicians, thinkers, writers and representatives of civil society to challenge conventional thinking and set a new Nordic agenda.
We need greater cooperation between governments. We need a shared Nordic public sphere, where citizens, media and culture bring our countries closer together – making the Nordic region stronger, more progressive and better equipped to act.
Amos Rex is an art museum in the heart of Helsinki that plays a major role in Finland’s cultural landscape. Known for its unique and unexpected experiences, it frequently showcases some of the most experimental work in contemporary art.
The museum is housed in a functionalist building in the heart of the Finnish capital, known as Lasipalatsi (the Glass Palace) – a magnificent example of Finnish modernism from the 1930s.
The Glass Palace embodied a radical new idea for its time. It was one of the first buildings to bring restaurants, cafés, shops and the Bio Rex cinema together under one roof.
